The project uncovered, through an intense drawing effort, some of the qualities of one of the most dangerous highways in the world. I-45 plays an important role in connecting Houston's wealthy suburbs to the Central Business District. The 30+ miles in between are oversaturated with advertisements and whacky commercial activity. The highway becomes a high-speed medium of communication and transportation of capital. Strange conditions emerge, as repetition, speed, and atmosphere fuse into the culture of the highway
